Below are 5 products we use daily with So. These are things I would totally recommend buying in some form!
Boppi: This pillow was initially too large for So when we brought her home, but now we use it daily. It is perfect for tummy time and has really encouraged her to lift her head more! We also set her in there next tp us if we need to eat, play games, or work on something. Disclaimer: do not leave them alone in the Boppi. It’s not secure and should not be used unsupervised.
Humidifier: The humidifier has helped everyone’s stuffy noses and skin. It helps our breathing when we’re stuffy due to allergies or sickness. The downsides are that it can make the air feel moist and they can make a lot of noise depending on the size. We have a large humidifier we keep in the living room, but we will more than likely get a smaller one for the nursery when she is sleeping in there more often.
Changing pad: The Bumbo changing pad is amazing. We got it as a gift, otherwise I would have bought a cheaper one, but I really love this changing pad. The rubbery material is easy to clean, it has a slight bump where her neck lays, and a seatbelt to keep her from rolling out. Changing pads are totally optional, especially if you don’t plan on going to the same spot to change your baby every time you need to, but we have loved having a set area for changing So.
Rocker/Bouncer: We have a combined rocker/bouncer which also includes a vibration setting. It’s nice that it has multiple options, so it’s a great space saver and a good option for testing out what So will like without buying everything. She enjoys the bouncer part of it. The big downside is that it’s not automatic and she can’t move it on her own, so it would be rocked/bounced by a parent. That being said, as with most other baby play items, they shouldn’t be left alone in them, especially if they can’t lift their head.
Bottle Warmer: I thought for sure this would be an item I could live without, but I was wrong. Sure you can warm milk in a bowl of warm water, but So would wake up and immediately want food and only waiting a couple minutes compared to like ten minutes made it worth it. I ended up buying a cheap one after a week of using a bowl and it has worked for our needs so far.
